Amber Benson bio

Amber Benson is an American actor, singer, writer and producer. Most well-known is her acting as Tara Maclay from the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Benson also directed her own films Chance, Lovers Liars & Lunatics and played the main actress in these films. She also appeared in the film Kiss the Bride. Benson was born January 8 1977 in Birmingham Alabama the daughter of Diane and Edward Benson a psychiatrist. Danielle Benson is her younger artist sister. Benson was a member of a Reform Jewish synagogue when she was growing as a child. Her mother is a Southern Baptist and raised Jewish through her father, is as well Jewish. Benson started appearing in different films like The Killing Jar. Benson was also a part of TV shows like Morganville The Series. In front of the camera, she used her creative writing abilities to create The Ghosts of Albion and direct projects like 2010's Drones. Buffy estimates that at least 1800 Slayers exist across the globe with 500 who are part of the Scooby Gang. Slayers are active once they are old enough to be a Slayer.
