Chaka Khan
Chaka who is also known as Queen of Funk as she is also called, was an American singer-songwriter. In her more than fifty-year career the singer has won a total 10 Grammys. Billboard has ranked her as the 65th-most popular dancer of all time. The grandmother who introduced her to jazz as just a young girl. The beginning years of her career, she performed in a variety band. In the end, she was a part of the group Rufus. Her debut album was released with the band at the age of 20. The group was awarded their first Grammy award a year later. Her self-titled debut album a few years after her solo debut. In the following years, she's released other albums such as "Echoes of a Time", "The Woman I Am" as well as a track titled 'Funk This". Apart from her work in music, she's also earned a reputation through her charitable work. Chaka Khan Foundation, which was founded by her to help people with autism and children along with families that are struggling. Khan has also been a protracted actress. She played the sister of Carrie, in the musical "Mama I'm Wanting to Sing."
