
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His first role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in Magnum. (1980-1988) and for which he received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series, winning in 1985. From 2010 to 2010, Selleck has played the role of New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005, he has played the role of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in a small town New York City. The actor has also appeared in nine television movies based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also played the role as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and Three Men and a Little Lady (90). From the time of Magnum, P.I., Selleck has been in more than 50 roles on television and film, including the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He appeared in frequent television characters as Monica Geller's love-interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends as well as Lance White, the likeable and naive partner in The Rockford Files, and as the owner of the casino A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also played a leading role in the TV western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran as well as a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and an endorser for advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
