Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter of Josephine of a lab technician, and John Ormond (a stockbroker) located in Epsom, Surrey. Ormond is the second of five children to her parents. She went to private school, first Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School, where early leading performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady started to attract attention. After a single year at art school, she transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art where she graduated in 1988. Ormond first appeared on British television in 1989's series Traffik. The show focused on the illegal trade in heroin which was carried out from the middle of the East to Europe. Ormond was the heroin addicted daughter of the main character a Home Office minister who was involved in the fight against heroin importation. The role was well-received from the very beginning.
